Save a Life is a youth-led nonprofit founded in Jaffna, Sri Lanka in 2014. Everything we do - from planting trees and restoring mangroves to mobilising blood donors and keeping children in school - is powered by volunteers, donors and partners who choose to get involved.
There are many ways to take part. Give your time as a volunteer, give monthly as a Friend of Save a Life, sponsor a child's education, make a one-off donation, or bring your organisation on board as a partner. Whichever you choose, you help build a healthy, inclusive, resilient and equitable future for communities across Sri Lanka.
How to get involved
How do I become a volunteer with Save a Life?
Fill in our Become a Volunteer Google Form and join the volunteer WhatsApp group, both linked on the Volunteer page. You can then take part in climate action, health promotion, youth leadership and community programmes alongside more than 1,500 active volunteers.
Who can volunteer?
Save a Life is a youth-led nonprofit, and most of our volunteers are young people from schools, universities and communities across Sri Lanka. Anyone who shares our mission of a healthy, inclusive and resilient future is welcome to sign up.
How can I donate?
Use the Donate Now button to give securely online through GlobalGiving or PayPal. Donations fund youth-led climate action, health promotion, education and community work in Jaffna and across Sri Lanka.
What is Friends of Save a Life?
Friends of Save a Life is our monthly giving programme. Monthly gifts give our teams predictable funding to plan programmes and keep supporters close to the work. You can sign up through the Friends of Save a Life form.
Can I sponsor a child?
Yes. Through Sponsor a Child you support a child's education, nutrition and mentoring in Sri Lanka. Visit the Sponsor a Child page to begin.
How can my organisation partner with Save a Life?
