RISE builds resilient, inclusive livelihoods so families can move from dependence on relief to stable, self-sustaining incomes.
The programme pairs start-up grants with practical skills training, coaching and market linkages, with a strong focus on women, youth and people with disabilities.

What is the RISE programme?
RISE (Resilient, inclusive social enterprise) is one of nine flagship programmes run by Save a Life, a youth-led nonprofit founded in Jaffna, Sri Lanka in 2014. Livelihood grants and skills training that lift families out of vulnerability.
What activities does RISE carry out?
RISE focuses on micro-enterprise grants, skills training, market linkage support and cooperative development. In practice this means: micro-enterprise start-up grants and equipment support; vocational and business skills training; market linkage and buyer connection support; cooperative and producer group development; ongoing mentoring and business follow-up visits.

Unemployed and underemployed youth, women entrepreneurs, small farmers and fishers, and families recovering from crisis.

500+ livelihoods supported, 80% enterprises still trading after 2 years, 35 cooperatives formed.
Where does RISE work?
Save a Life is headquartered at No. 460, Navalar Road, Jaffna, and delivers RISE with communities across Sri Lanka. Our youth volunteers work alongside community leaders, schools, universities and local partners so that every activity responds to real local needs.
